Today I am wearing a sweater that did not exist on Thursday:
Since you probably can't tell from the horrible photo (sorry, early morning rush), it's Teva Durham's Leaf Lace Sweater from Loop-d-Loop. I used Cascade 128, which I can't say enough good about. It's so squishy and springy and wooly. It's also completely inappropriate for a pullover on a day as nice is today is in Seattle, but I will be proudly sweating all day. I knit this thing in three days, I'm going to wear it immediately dammit.

Why Wild Swan?
In The Wild Swans by HC Anderson, a girl must knit sweaters for her 12 brothers-turned-swans to make them human again, in the short time before she is to be burned as a witch, and she must do it with her bare hands using stinging nettles. In addition to being a very exciting example of knitting in fairy tales, it sums up the essence of knitting; though painfully frustrating at times, it is always worthwhile.
